The first day of spring is March 20, but for months now, workers with Bob’s Market and Greenhouses have been preparing for the big day and the even bigger season. On Friday, the main greenhouses in Mason County were busy with activity —watering, bedding and transporting from one end of headquarters to the other. Bob’s Market and Greenhouses is much more than a few retail stores with its products being shipped all over the country. Pictured are workers watering Bob’s famous Boston Ferns and rows of marigolds beginning to bloom despite the subzero temperatures of this winter. For the last few weeks, spring has arrived indoors under the greenhouse domes, so it’s only a matter of time before it shows up outdoors and in gardens across the area.
