The day after
GALLIPOLIS — The day after Christmas usually contains its fair share of messes which aren’t always contained to trash bags full of wrapping paper and discarded boxes. On Thursday at Gallipolis Riverfront Public Use Area, the Ohio River once again left a mess of mud, trash and debris after the water crested on Christmas Eve at 41.13 feet, according to the National Weather Service out of Charleston. Flood stage at the Byrd Locks and Dam is 50 feet.
