Candles lit in honor of loved ones who have passed on

4 months 3 hours ago |2 Views | | | Email | Print

James Vinson, above, founder of regional support group Healing After Losing One’s Child (HALO), lights candles in honor of his late mother, Phyllis Vinson, and late son, Matthew Hunter Vinson, at a recent memorial event for those who have lost loved ones — not just children, but parents, spouses, grandparents and siblings. Pictured at right is Misty Grant singing Dancing in the Sky as a comfort to those in attendance. Approximately 50 loved ones were honored and their lives celebrated at the candle-lighting event. Several songs were performed and poems recited by those in attendance. The HALO group meets at 7 p.m. on the third Thursday of each month at Community Christian Fellowship, located at 290 Trails End, Thurman, Ohio. All are welcome.
