GALLIPOLIS — While Thursday’s wet weather might have dampened the spirits of trick-or-treaters across Gallia County, Bossard Memorial Library staff members were more than happy to welcome the dozens of children who attended their special Halloween story time into the library for a fun-filled afternoon.
In addition to a costume contest, Halloween bingo, crafts, including pumpkin decorating and crafting monster masks, children also went home with treats and got to sit-in on a reading of a Halloween-themed children’s book.
Debbie Saunders, Library Director, reported that, each year, Bossard’s Halloween program is a favorite among the staff, who lend their help to the youth services department in planning, decorating and implementing the program.
“The library staff was so happy with the success of our Halloween story time. There were lots of children in costume, lots of crafts, stories, treats and fun,” Saunders said.
Youth Services Coordinator Rachael Barker echoed Saunders’ sentiment, stating that she loves seeing the children on Halloween and was thrilled by this year’s turnout for the event.
“Halloween is one of my favorite holidays. I look forward to seeing their kids in their costumes,” she said.
Barker further stated that Bossard Library’s youth services department is dedicated to continuing to provide fun programming in a safe environment for the children of the community.
“I truly appreciate our patrons and I want to continue to give back to our community,” Barker stated.
