A Washington Court House man has been charged with second-degree felonious assault after he allegedly slashed a woman’s face with a knife on Sunday.

Troy L. Perkins, 34, of 212 Temple St., is being held in the Fayette County Jail on a $50,000 bond.

Just after midnight on Sunday, a Washington C.H. Police officer was dispatched to an assault complaint at a residence on East Paint Street. The victim and several witnesses told police that Perkins was “yelling anti-gay/lesbian remarks” at the victim, reports said.

When the victim approached Perkins, he allegedly grabbed her, according to reports. When she pushed Perkins in an attempt to free herself from his grip, he allegedly pulled out a knife and slashed her face.

Shortly after the police interviewed the victim, Perkins was located on Delaware Street and arrested for the offense.

The case is still under investigation.
