Updated: Two men were reportedly held against their will and assaulted in a Blanchester home Saturday, and police said Sunday the incident was drug related.
Mark Simons and Cole Campbell were reportedly held inside a home on 703 E. Center St. and assaulted by a white female and two black males, according to the Blanchester Police Department.
The alleged captors released Simon and Campbell into a field on State Route 133 after several hours, police said. That is when they were able to go to a home nearby and phone police at approximately 7:15 p.m. Saturday.
When the police department executed a search warrant at the house Sunday morning, several items of evidence were collected, according to the BPD. The victim’s vehicle was also seized as evidence.
Additionally, three dogs, including a puppy, were found inside the house in “deplorable conditions with no water, very little food and dog feces and urine throughout the house,” according to a news release.
Police officers fed the dogs and contacted the Clinton County dog warden who took them into custody. Police said an outdoor cat was fed but remained at the residence.
One of the reported victims remains hospitalized at Miami Valley Hospital for treatment of injuries sustained during the abduction.
The three suspects were last seen driving a silver four-door BMW with Michigan license plate CFK-4132. Anyone with information is asked to call Blanchester police at 937-783-4702, ext. 15.
