Senator Robin Webb, D- Grayson, whose Senate District 18 includes Greenup and Lewis counties, is one of two lawmakers who will serve as panelists at the 27th annual Kentucky Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (KACDL) Conference and Criminal Defense Seminar on Nov. 1 at the Galt House in Louisville. Joining Webb will be Rep. Johnny Bell, D-Glasgow.

The topic for the panel discussion to be led by Senator Webb and Rep. Bell will be “Shaping a Better Future for Clients Facing a Loss of Liberty.”

“It is an honor to be selected to participate in this conference and specially to serve on a panel for my peers,” Webb said. “As a trial lawyer, I look forward to sharing my insight with other defense attorneys as well as hearing discussions from my colleagues.”

Webb served in the House of Representatives from 1999-2009 and has served in the Senate since 2009. She earned her A.A.S. and B.S. degrees from Morehead State University and her J.D. from Chase College of Law at Northern Kentucky University. She is licensed to practice law in all Kentucky and federal courts. She is a KACDL board member and regional vice president. A member of the Kentucky Bar Association (KBA), she serves as the chair-elect of the Equine Law Section, a member of the Domestic Violence and Child Protection Committee, and is a former chair of the Criminal Law Section.

KACDL is the only organized, statewide, all-inclusive group of criminal defense lawyers in Kentucky. According to information released by the organization, they are committed to penal code reform, to fairness and justice for all citizens accused of crimes in the Commonwealth of Kentucky, and to unwavering service to the criminal defense community through effective and supportive networking, advocacy and education.

Additional panel topics will be “Case Decisions and Recent Developments in the Appellate Courts,” “How to Try a Confession Case,” and “Ethics for the Criminal Defense Lawyer.” Larry Simon, KACDL president, will give the opening and closing remarks.
