DARWIN — An accidental self-inflicted gunshot wound is under investigation in Meigs County.
According to Meigs County Sheriff Keith Wood, his office received a call at 12:29 p.m. Sunday from Meigs County EMS. They told the sheriff’s office that a man, who has not been named as the case is still under investigation, was practicing target shooting and speed drawing on Gold Ridge Road off of State Route 681 near Darwin.
Once on scene, Deputy Jimmy Riley learned that the man was practicing his speed drawing when he accidentally fired into his leg with a .40 caliber handgun.
No more information on his condition is officially known at this time, Wood said.
