Task Force arrests Gallipolis resident on drug charges


GALLIPOLIS — One person has been arrested and is facing multiple drug charges after being arrested Sunday.

Gallipolis Police Chief Jeff Boyer reports the Ohio Organized Crime Investigations Commission Major Crimes Task Force of Gallia-Meigs secured a search warrant at 1155 Second Avenue with the assistance of the Gallipolis City Police Department and the Gallia County Prosecutors Office. The warrant was obtained through investigations from the Major Crimes Task Force in conjunction with the Gallipolis City Police Department.

Boyer stated the search warrant was executed by an entry team consisting of Agents from the Major Crimes Task Force, Gallipolis Police Officers and the Gallia County Sheriff’s Deputies on Sept. 3 shortly after midnight. Once the residence was secured three adults were detained while a search of the premises was completed.

According to a press release from Boyer, agents from the Task Force with the assistance from the Gallipolis Police and the Gallia County Sheriff’s Office located several items of contraband that were seized during the search including reported heroin, pills, digital scales and drug paraphernalia.

Agents arrested Timber M. Goelling, 27, who resides at the home. Goelling was transported to the Gallia County Jail on charges of trafficking in heroin and possession of heroin, the charges will be enhanced due to five juveniles being in the residence at the time the warrant was executed.

The Ohio Organized Crime Investigations Commission’s Major Crimes Task Force of Gallia-Meigs was formed in September 2013 and is comprised of officers from the Gallipolis City and Middleport Police Departments, Gallia and Meigs County Sheriff’s Offices and The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigations. Criminal Prosecutions and legal assistance are rendered by the Gallia and Meigs County Prosecutor Offices who are members of the Task Force as well.
