MIDDLEPORT — Home National Bank will soon open its third location, providing residents in the village of Middleport with their first full service bank in more than five years.

An open house at the location at 97 North Second Avenue in Middleport will take place from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 10, leading up to the official opening on Aug. 15.

“I’m excited about the opening of the Middleport branch. Feedback from the community has been extremely positive,” said Home National Bank President Roma Sayre.

“Everyone here at the bank is excited to provide a full service bank for the community,” noted Sayre.

Branch Manager Randy Pierce brings more than a decade of banking experience to his new position, having spent the past 11 years as an Assistant Vice President with National Financial Institution. Pierce also has more than 20 years of experience in retail and pharmacy management which began in Meigs County. He has worked in Gallia County for the past 27 years.

“I am excited for the opportunity to come back to the area I am from and rekindle old relationships,” said Pierce. Pierce is a long-time resident of the area and the son of graduates of Rutland and Pomeroy high schools.

Pierce and his wife of nearly 30 years, Beth, reside in the Bend Area and have two adult sons.

In addition to Pierce, the bank will be staffed by tellers Tori Wolfe and Jennifer Payne, both of whom reside in Middleport.

Wolfe is a 2012 graduate of Meigs High School and earned an associate degree in accounting from Hocking College in 2017.

Payne is a 2010 graduate of Meigs High School and attended Ohio University.

Betsy Wolfe will be coming from Home National Bank’s Racine location to serve as the Middleport branch’s head teller. A Racine area resident, Wolfe has worked for the bank for approximately a years and a half, after graduating from the University of Rio Grande in 2015 with a bachelor of science in marketing and a minor in art.

The bank’s new employees have been working in the Racine location, completing training prior to the opening of the new location.

Since the announcement earlier in the year of the opening of the new location, the building, which was previously Peoples Bank until its closing in April 2012, has undergone some renovations including new flooring, paint and the replacement of equipment.

The bank will have a very modern look, said Pierce.

As part of the open house, the bank will be giving away door prizes, which include gift certificates from other businesses in the Village of Middleport.

Home National Bank Vice President John Hoback explained that it is important for the bank to show its support to the other members of the Middleport business community as they become part of community.

“(Mayor) Sandy (Iannarelli) and community leaders have done a great job making us feel welcome,” said Sayre of joining the Middleport community.

The Middleport branch of Home National Bank will provide all of the services which are available at the Middleport location.

Bank hours in Middleport will be Monday-Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday 8:30 a.m. to noon for the drive thru. Lobby hours will be Monday-Friday 9 a.m.-4 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m.-noon.
