Elks celebrate Flag Day


Officers and guests of the Gallipolis Elks Lodge honored the America flag with a Flag Day celebration in the lodge on June 11. The guest speaker, Bill Medley, said the group gathered to give respect to the flag and to remember and give thanks to all Americans who fought and died defending “Old Glory.” He reminded all in attendance that the flag is only as good as the people it represents. Helping Medley with the ceremony, from left to right, Loyal Knight Bob McClaskey, Esquire Drew Rose, Chaplin John Story, Lecturing Knight Jason Northup, Bill Medley, Exalted Ruler Walt Brown, Trustee Steve McGhee, PSP Fran Mullen and PER Rick Borton. A lunch was served by the Gallipolis Emblem Club following the ceremony.
