Gallia woman stable after being struck by car

GALLIPOLIS — One person was airlifted to an area hospital and another uninjured after a car accidentally struck a pedestrian on Ohio Ohio 588 on Saturday night, according to Sgt. Jake Schuldt of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

According to Schuldt, Lindsey Burnett, 32, of Gallipolis, was walking east in the middle of the road on Ohio 588 near McCormick Road around 10:55 p.m. Saturday when Wendy L. Wade, 21, struck her with her vehicle.

Schuldt said alcohol is not a factor in the accident.

Burnett was transported to St. Mary’s Hospital in Huntington and is listed in stable condition.

Schuldt said the investigation is still ongoing. No other information was available at press time.
