A 32-year-old Washington Court House man was arrested Thursday night for allegedly assaulting another man and taking his cell phone.

The victim told Washington C.H Police that he had advertised his cell phone on “Craigslist.” At approximately 6:24 p.m. Thursday, a man later identified as Cody S. Moore, 32, of 1133 N. North St., came to the victim’s house on West Oak Street to collect the cell phone.

According to reports, the victim handed Moore the cell phone and asked for the money. At that time, Moore allegedly punched the victim in the face and fled the area.

When police arrived, they observed that the victim was bleeding from his mouth and that he had sustained several cuts to his lower lip and tongue. The victim signed a sworn affidavit and complaint of robbery against Moore.

At around 7:35 p.m., an officer checked the 1100 block of North North Street due to Moore being a robbery suspect, reports said. The officer observed Moore drive by his home and pull into the driveway. The officer reportedly attempted a traffic stop, but Moore fled inside the residence.

Shortly after, Moore returned to his vehicle and the officer informed him that he was wanted for robbery. Moore was also arrested for driving under suspension, obstructing official business and possession of drug abuse instruments.

Moore is being held in the Fayette County Jail on a $25,000 bond for the second-degree felony robbery charge.
