New Boston Police have made an arrest of two people, following the execution of a drug search warrant.

Matthew Waters, 21, faces charges of trafficking and possession of heroin, a felony of the fifth-degree, while Brittiany Hurn, 22, is charged with possession of heroin and permitting drug abuse of heroin, both felonies of the fifth-degree.

Captain Steve Goins said around 5:25 p.m. Friday, New Boston Police officers executed a drug search warrant at 3906 Apt. D. Stanton Ave., in the Boston Commons Apartment Complex. The apartment is rented by Hurn and her boyfriend, Waters. Goins said it has been an ongoing investigation at that address, in which he said Matthew Waters had been selling heroin from that location. During the search, Officers said they seized black tar heroin, marijuana, drug paraphernalia items and drug abuse instruments.

Both were taken to the New Boston Police Department for processing and later transferred to the Scioto County Jail. Both are scheduled to appear in Portsmouth Municipal Court on Monday morning.

Waters was previously arrested by NBPD on Oct. 6, 2013, when he lived at 3972 Gallia St., after a drug search warrant was executed. Waters was charged with trafficking in heroin at that time. Waters is currently out on bond pending his Scioto County Common Pleas Court trial on those charges.
