RIO GRANDE — A longstanding cornerstone of the University of Rio Grande/Rio Grande Community College (URG/RGCC), Robert S. Wood Hall is currently getting a facelift and other necessary upgrades as part of a large-scale renovation project happening on campus.
According to Rebecca Long, vice-president of administration for RGCC, the $3.5 million contract was awarded to R.W. Setterlin, a contractor based in Columbus, Ohio. She said work began September 17, 2013.
The contract includes a new metal roof, a new HVAC system and other minor facility upgrades. Long said RGCC applied for and received funding through the Ohio Capital Renovation program.
Long said all classes and faculty offices were moved out of Wood Hall and into other available spaces on campus prior to the start of fall semester. Wood Hall is currently closed to the public, and a fence has been erected to secure the construction site.
Long said completion is scheduled for fall 2014.
